The AI week, for a teacher
A real edition, written for: Teacher
The one thing
Could AI agents draft your lesson outlines overnight, or are they a new risk to your school’s systems?
AI agents used in real cyberattacks
An unknown attacker used hundreds of AI agents to break into at least 395 organizations. The agents exploited two PaperCut NG/MF flaws patched only days earlier. GreyNoise, a threat-intelligence firm, traced the campaign to a single internet address on 31 August. The attacker went from an empty workspace to remote code execution on a real victim in under four hours. One American high school fell from first access to full domain control in seven minutes. Schools were the hardest-hit sector, and the US and UK had the most victims. The attacker told the agents to skip 28 countries, including Russia and China. Some agents ignored that list and attacked those countries anyway. GreyNoise says the operator is likely Russian-speaking, and cannot explain the deviation. The agents ran on OpenAI's Codex harness with a DeepSeek model.
Why it matters for you
Attackers used AI agents to breach hundreds of schools. Your lesson plans and student data could be at risk.
- Schools were the hardest-hit sector in this campaign
- Agents exploited patched flaws within days of disclosure
- Some agents ignored their own rules and attacked off-limits targets
Try this
Ask your IT team whether PaperCut or similar systems are patched and monitored.
Dots launch: always-on AI assistants
OpenAI launched Dots, always-on AI assistants that work without constant direction. They run on GPT-6 Astra with their own cloud computer. Dots connect to over 4,000 apps via plugins. They learn user preferences and work 24/7 on tasks. Users can inspect a dot’s work on its cloud computer. Dots can also use a user’s laptop with permission. They message progress or questions in ChatGPT, Slack, or Teams. Built-in safeguards include read-only tools for background work. Users control access, permissions, and approvals via Custom Rules. Specialist dots for organizations have their own identity and access. These are in focused enterprise pilots. Microsoft Agent 365 will integrate specialist dots. Dots roll out to Pro and Business Premium users in eligible markets.
Why it matters for you
Dots run 24/7 on tasks without constant direction. They could draft lesson outlines or mark short answers overnight.
- They connect to 4,000+ apps via plugins
- Pro or Business Premium plan required for access
- Enterprise beta needs admin enablement

ElevenLabs v4 speech models released
ElevenLabs released Eleven v4 and Eleven v4 Turbo text-to-speech models. Eleven v4 uses a new architecture for more emotive, controllable speech. It supports 90+ languages and 17,500+ voices. Professional Voice Clones are supported again after being absent in v3. Audio tags like laughs or whispers are followed more reliably. Context stitching keeps long-form audio consistent. Regenerations retain the same speaker identity. Eleven v4 Turbo is a low-latency variant for real-time use. It has ~100 ms median inference latency and ~150 ms time to first speech. Both models are available via apps, API, and agents. They support bidirectional streaming for agent loops. Professional Voice Clones work identically across both models. The models are available now.
Why it matters for you
ElevenLabs v4 clones a voice with just 10 seconds of audio. You could create audio feedback for students in your own voice.
- Supports 90 languages, including Swiss German
- Handles long text while keeping voice identity consistent
- Lower latency for real-time use
Try this
Record a 10-second voice sample and test it on a short feedback script.
Meta One bundles AI tools across apps
Meta launched Meta One, a paid subscription across Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Meta AI. It bundles the earlier Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus and WhatsApp Plus plans. Core and Premium tiers add higher usage of Meta's image and video generation tools. Business and creator tiers run from Essential to Max. These add scheduling, links in organic posts, exportable analytics, team access and a verified badge. They also raise how many customer replies Meta Business Agent can send on WhatsApp. Meta says the core apps and Meta AI stay free. Over 50 features are live, and rollout is gradual. Meta reports 15 million subscriptions and trials so far. Edits Plus and AI glasses support are planned later.
Why it matters for you
Meta One bundles AI image and video tools across its apps. You could use these for visual aids in lessons or reports.
- Business tiers raise Meta Business Agent reply limits on WhatsApp
- Core and Premium tiers add higher usage of image and video generation
- Rollout is gradual, so check availability in your region
Try this
Check if your school’s Meta accounts can access the new tiers for lesson visuals.
AI-integrated malware framework released
Cisco Talos built an open-source framework called CAIRN. It flags AI-integration traits in malware to classify and track samples. CAIRN already found a Windows hacking tool named CLOSEDQUORUM. CLOSEDQUORUM polls DeepSeek, Qwen, Mistral and Google Gemini for directives. The tool has no human input mechanism. It steals login credentials and cryptocurrency. Researchers linked it to cybercriminal forums from 2025. They could not confirm its real-world use. CAIRN also uncovered about 20 other AI-integrated malware examples. Researchers say AI is becoming operationalized for attackers.
Why it matters for you
Cisco Talos found malware that polls AI models for directives. Your school’s systems could be targeted by similar tools.
- CAIRN framework flags AI traits in malware to classify samples
- One tool, CLOSEDQUORUM, polls DeepSeek, Qwen, Mistral, and Google Gemini
- Researchers expect more attackers to adopt AI agents
Try this
Ask your IT team whether they monitor for AI-integrated malware.

Build this
Every week, one small thing to build with AI in something you actually care about. No work in it. Five minutes to set up, and worth keeping if it earns a second run.
A week of dinners planned from what you already have in the cupboards.
Five minutes to set up
Context: I want a week of dinner plans using only what I already own. Task: create a 7-day dinner plan with recipes. Constraints: - use only these ingredients: [list every ingredient you have at home, separated by commas] - no shopping or substitutions - each recipe must serve 2 Output: the plan with recipes, one per day.
- List every ingredient you have at home, separated by commas
- Paste the prompt into ChatGPT and run it
- Check that every recipe uses only what you listed
- Save the plan and cook the first dinner
Yours arrives Thursday.
