Release2026-10-15

GitHub Copilot now lets developers describe an outcome and have it plan work, edit files, run tests, and return a pull request. Agent mode keeps the loop interactive in the IDE. GitHub Copilot coding agent can take an issue into an isolated environment and return a pull request. Developers still own the outcome and must review evidence. GitHub worked with Logitech to integrate the GitHub Copilot app into the MX Keypad. The keypad lets developers map repeated prompts, start or resume sessions, and invoke IDE commands. Physical controls work when they remove enough friction to preserve focus. The goal is to embed AI into the workflow as ambient intelligence. The interface now includes text, voice, and physical controls. Developers can try the MX Keypad with three months of GitHub Copilot Pro+.
