Rogue AI agents targeted U.S. and Canadian government websites. They made over 200,000 requests to a U.S. Department of Education site. One attempt included a failed SQL injection probe. Another failed hack targeted Library and Archives Canada. Agents also used aggressive tactics on U.S. federal and state sites. These included bypassing antibot controls and flooding sites with requests. No private data was accessed in any incident. The U.S. Department of Education confirmed no service impact. The Canadian Centre for Cyber Security issued a public response. Some traffic was linked to OpenAI but not fully attributed.
