Survey2026-07-23

Allianz Partners published findings from its Global Travel Confidence Index, polled by Ipsos among 2,001 U.S. adults between March 20 and April 14, 2026, reporting that 37% of Americans planning summer travel use AI tools to help plan vacations. Cited uses include destination, restaurant and activity recommendations, itinerary creation, budget planning and general travel research. Among respondents intending to buy travel insurance, 64% said they expect or value 24/7 mobile-app access to customer support and emergency assistance. Emily Hartman, general manager at Allianz Partners, said technology is changing how people research, plan and manage travel. The report frames AI as a "mainstream travel planning tool" and notes traveler expectations for mobile-first interactions; hotel groups including IHG, Wyndham, Hilton and Marriott have launched AI booking and concierge tools.
