Anthropic expanded its AI for Science program to 20 foundations and institutions. The program provides free Claude credits to researchers. It began in May 2025 for individual scientists. Now it includes organizations like HHMI Janelia and the Allen Institute. Partners will distribute credits to researchers. Projects span biology, medicine, physics, chemistry, climate science, and mathematics. Some collaborations produce public goods like open datasets and standards. The Model Hardware Standard is in research preview. The US National Science Foundation is among the new partners. Space Telescope Science Institute and Wellcome Sanger Institute are also included. New research initiatives like FlyWire and gnomAD receive direct support. Many collaborations are still in early stages. Anthropic aims to expand the program further.
