Anthropic found a group in northern Yemen using Claude to help develop missiles and rockets. The area is where Iran-backed Houthi militants operate. The users were not identified. They worked on three weapons projects, Anthropic said. These included a guided rocket and a ballistic missile with a claimed range above 2,000 kilometres. A third was a missile family called the R2000. Anthropic disclosed the case in its latest report on detecting and countering misuse of its AI, published Thursday. The case adds to concern about advanced AI in military programmes and in the hands of non-state armed groups.
