Release2026-09-08

Meta launched Muse, a personal AI agent for people in the United States. Muse connects to a user's email, calendar, payments, health, smart home and shopping apps. It can send emails, book travel, fill out forms and make purchases. Checkout runs through Link by Stripe, with Shop Pay and 1Password integrations promised. Users connect services one at a time, and can name the agent and pick its avatar. Muse runs on Meta's own model, Muse Spark, inside a separate secure virtual machine. Meta says the agent cannot see passwords or payment methods, and that conversations do not reach its advertising systems. Access is free at first, with paid plans at two tiers once usage grows, so a payment card is required. It arrives on the web, iOS, Android and WhatsApp, with Meta's AI glasses to follow. TechCrunch notes Meta's record of privacy settlements and a recent $18 billion agreement with 29 states.
