Replit switched its default model provider from Anthropic to OpenAI. CEO Amjad Masad cited cost, performance and partnership strength as reasons. ChatGPT now powers Replit Agent by default. Anthropic’s Claude remains available for users to select. Masad said OpenAI is now the preferred partner for Replit Agent. Replit had been a top-five customer of Anthropic until recently. Enterprise revenue rose from 2% to 15% of total revenue this year. Over half of Replit’s revenue is now B2B. Masad expects more than half of revenue to come from enterprise and government in 2027. Replit remains model-agnostic and allows users to choose other supported models.
