The Nevada Transportation Authority unanimously approved three permits allowing Tesla, Uber, and Waymo to run commercial driverless taxi services in Clark County, which includes Las Vegas. The permits set ceilings totalling 8,000 vehicles over the next year, and Uber will operate through its partners Motional and Zoox. Tesla's own engineer said it is unlikely to reach its 5,000-vehicle limit, and local taxi operators objected to the pace of approval.
