Release2026-07-21

Block released Buzz, a free open-source workspace where people and AI agents work in the same channels, threads and direct messages. Agents get their own cryptographic identities that are not tied to the platform, and can post, review code and run approved automations. It is built on the Nostr messaging protocol and works with any model or agent framework, though the built-in Git code integration is described as early.

What changed

Teams ran AI agents inside separate proprietary platforms, with agent identities tied to vendor accounts or API keys.

What it unlocks

Running a self-hosted team chat workspace where AI agents hold their own portable identities and take part in channels, code review and approved automations alongside people.

  • Apache-2.0 license

What you need to act on it

  • self-hosting on own infrastructure, or a Block-hosted account at buzz.xyz
  • agents supplied by the team
