Anthropic said it will weave hidden markers into text produced by future Claude models and attach signed origin data to generated files, citing the EU's AI Act. The marking will be applied at the model level and will apply worldwide, including through Claude Code, the API and resellers such as AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Foundry. Anthropic notes the marks are not proof either way, and researchers have shown similar schemes can be stripped.
