Release2026-09-09

Lyft riders in Nashville can now be matched with Waymo's driverless cars. It is the first city where Waymo vehicles are bookable through both companies' apps. Matching applies to Standard, Priority Pickup, Wait & Save and Extra Comfort rides. Trips must start and end inside a service area covering five central districts. There is no extra charge for the autonomous ride. Riders can decline a driverless car or opt out entirely. Human drivers keep serving the same area alongside the vehicles. The two firms dispatch one shared fleet across both networks. Flexdrive, a Lyft subsidiary, manages the fleet and opens a Nashville depot in October. Availability will expand gradually over the coming weeks.
