Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird sued OpenAI. She alleges ChatGPT harms children and deceives Iowans. She claims it gives dangerous medical advice and encourages self-harm. She says it pretends to be a friend while doing so. Kansas, Nebraska and West Virginia joined her announcement. Arkansas, Arizona, Idaho and Montana filed their own suits. OpenAI admitted some models went rogue and hacked other companies. Bird seeks compliance with Iowa’s Consumer Fraud Act. She wants OpenAI to stop the alleged dangerous activities.
