Etsy now requires at least one authentic, non-AI image in most seller listings. Functional guides like patterns and recipes can no longer be AI-generated. Bot-generated listings are banned and will be removed. Buyers can get refunds if a product differs materially from a non-compliant listing. Etsy added a tool to flag suspected AI images in the listing form. The company plans to expand AI detection and removal tools. Etsy is also investing more in AI for its own operations. CEO Kruti Patel Goyal said AI will improve buyer-seller matching on the platform.
