OpenAI cut the price of two GPT-5.6 models, Luna and Terra, for developers using its API, effective 30 July 2026. The same cuts mean paid ChatGPT Work and Codex subscribers use up less of their allowance for the same work, while subscription prices stay the same. A new Fast mode replaces Priority Processing for the larger Sol model, trading double the price for higher speed.
What changed
Terra and Luna carried higher API prices, and speed upgrades were sold as Priority Processing.
