Release2026-09-01

Google made Google Pics generally available on 1 September 2026. Pics creates images from typed prompts and edits imported ones. Users can import from a computer, Google Drive or Google Photos. Selecting a single element allows local edits to that part only. Text inside an image can be edited, reformatted or translated. Pics also crops for web, social, print or digital, and upscales images. A version history keeps earlier states so changes can be undone. Images selected in Docs or Slides open in Pics in one click. Teammates can be invited, and images shared by link or opened in Drive. Google says Drive-wide image editing arrives in the coming weeks.
