Anthropic committed 5% of its shares to a new Public Benefit Fund. The fund’s stake grows by 2% for every 50% rise in company value. It will pursue mission work beyond the company’s own projects. One focus is labor market impacts from AI. The fund is structured as a wholly-owned LLC. It will not use equity for lobbying or political giving. Co-founders had already pledged 80% of their equity to public good. About half of employees participate in an equity donation match program. Combined, roughly 20% of shares are now dedicated to public benefit. More details on governance and milestones will follow.
