Oura, the smart ring maker, has filed publicly to go public. Its filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission came on Thursday. Revenue for the nine months to 30 June rose sharply year on year. Oura says it has sold millions of rings and has around five million paying members. It describes its ring and app as an always-on health intelligence platform. The filing says its store of biometric data trains its own AI and machine-learning models. Oura hopes to widen beyond fitness tracking through health plans, employers and care providers. Reports last month put the target raise at $3 billion and the valuation at about $16 billion. A proposed class action accuses Oura of misleading users about sleep-tracking accuracy. Oura disputes those claims and says it will defend them.
