OpenCode reported that Ox Alpha, a coding model whose maker is not identified, handled 26 trillion tokens in its first four days of free preview, ranking second among models on the platform. OpenRouter called it the largest model launch it has recorded. The model is free for now, the provider is anonymous, and requests that use tools have been failing on some OpenCode endpoints.

What changed

Ox Alpha appeared on OpenCode as an unnamed free preview model on 20 August with no usage record.

What it unlocks

Free use of a million-token-context coding model through an OpenAI-compatible endpoint, droppable into existing agent setups.

  • 327,000 users, 8.3M sessions
  • 11.6T tokens on OpenRouter in 3 days
  • 1,048,576-token context window

What you need to act on it
