Nvidia has agreed to buy Hugging Face, the widely used hosting site for openly available AI models, for $12.9 billion, according to a person familiar with the agreement. The deal would place a central piece of the open-model ecosystem under the control of the largest supplier of AI chips. Neither company has publicly confirmed the terms.
