The US Department of Defence has stopped using Anthropic AI tools. It designated Anthropic a supply chain risk in February. The Pentagon set a late August deadline to phase out the tools. Maven is the Pentagon’s primary platform for intelligence and data. Anthropic has sued the US government over the designation. The Pentagon has since signed contracts with Google, xAI and OpenAI. Anthropic’s boss Dario Amodei met with President Trump last week.
