xAI released Imagine Image 2.0, now the Quality Mode for image generation on grok.com and the Grok mobile apps. It adds region-based editing, background removal, generation from several reference images at once, resizing to different frame shapes, and preset templates for tasks such as product shots, headshots and icons. Access through the developer interface is not yet available.
What changed
The previous Imagine image model offered fewer editing controls and no ready-made templates.
What it unlocks
Editing one region of a generated image while leaving the rest untouched, combining up to five reference images, and refitting a single image to different frame sizes.
