Amazon plans a 248,687-square-foot sorting warehouse in Georgetown, Texas, according to a July 6, 2026 filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The $48 million project is scheduled to break ground Aug. 24, 2026 and be completed by July 2027. Amazon spokesperson Austin Stowe said the facility, which sits within the company's fulfillment network, will use robotic systems that bring items to employees for order picking before packaging, and will include specialty and cold goods storage areas plus office and support space. The site continues Amazon's automation buildout, following robots such as "Tipper" announced in 2025 and a 3 million-square-foot robotics fulfillment center broken ground on in North Carolina in 2024.
