GitHub deprecated seven Copilot models on October 19, 2026. The list includes Gemini 3.7 Flash, GPT-5.5, GPT-6.1 Sol, GPT-6.1 Sol mini, GPT-6 Luna, GPT-6 Luna mini, and Grok 4.5. Each has a suggested replacement. The change covers Copilot Chat, inline edits, ask, agent modes, and code completions. No action is needed to remove the deprecated models. Admins must enable new models in Copilot settings to see them. Enabled models appear in the Copilot Chat model selector in VS Code and on github.com. The deprecation was announced on September 18, 2026.
