Researchers analyzed 6,839 AI music papers from 2015 to April 2026. They built a joint taxonomy of 12 application categories and 11 technical method families. They introduced the Research Attention Profile with four indicators. Technical support concentrates in scalable, content-oriented tasks. Education, health, and governance receive weaker and slower methodological support. Generation adopts frontier methods after 0.33 years on average. Education adopts them after 4.33 years on average. Health adopts them after 5.00 years on average. The paper calls for a more socially responsive AI music research agenda.
