Walmart introduced Agent Profiles for AI shopping assistants. Each agent gets a dedicated profile within a customer’s account. Customers can set spending limits or require approval for every purchase. Purchases by agents appear separately from the customer’s own. Walmart also launched the Walmart Agent Gateway for faster agent shopping. The gateway uses MCP to improve reliability for agent transactions. Agents can shop for a customer’s usual items without accessing full purchase history. Walmart published new terms for AI agents shopping on its platform. Agents must not act beyond the shopper’s intent. Agents cannot access or change payment methods. Walmart may block agents that violate the terms. Agent Profiles and the gateway are designed to keep customers in control.
