Regulation2026-10-05

Utah regulators announced a plan to allow an AI product to evaluate patients. It will write new drug prescriptions without prior human review. Nolla Health will launch an AI service for mild-to-moderate acne treatment. The AI will assess patients using a structured intake and skin photo analysis. Early pilot stages will require clinician sign-off on prescriptions. Nolla may later prescribe drugs without this review. The plan is part of Utah’s AI sandbox program. The program waives regulations for testing AI products under state supervision. Utah will require third-party audits of company claims in response to critics.
