OpenAI will let outside groups vet its AI models for safety risks earlier in development. The reviews will cover training, evaluation and rollout stages. OpenAI will announce the plan in a blog post. It lists priorities for effective reviews. These include strong independence mechanisms. Scientific rigor is also required. Robust security practices are another priority. Clear responsibilities must be defined.
