PayrollOrg surveyed over 9,400 workers on AI in payroll. Nearly half said they were uncomfortable with it. Only a quarter said they were comfortable. AI use in payroll remains early stage. Compliance, data quality and trust are key barriers. PayrollOrg noted similar unease in a 2025 survey. 34% were uncomfortable with AI calculating wages then. 45% opposed AI answering payroll inquiries. Most companies are still early in AI for compensation. Only 1% reported advanced AI use in compensation. Governance and system integration are adoption hurdles.
