Google published a study on its AMIE conversational AI in primary care. The AI interacted with patients before urgent appointments. Physician supervisors monitored all conversations for safety. No safety stops were triggered during the study. Clinical evaluators rated AMIE’s conversation quality highly. Patients also rated the interactions favourably. Patient attitudes toward AI improved after using AMIE. Primary care providers found AMIE helpful for visit preparation in most reviewed cases. Some providers said it might have changed their behaviour. The study ran from April to November 2025. It was funded by Alphabet. The paper appears in The Lancet.
