International Paper led a $36 million funding round for Relay. Relay makes smart radios with transcription and translation for industrial settings. International Paper first trialed the tech at a Tampa, Florida site. It is already using Relay at more than 20 locations. The radios capture transcripts of conversations via a cloud-based system. Relay devices include a panic button for safety. International Paper plans to expand Relay to two or three times more sites in the next couple of years. Relay has raised over $90 million in total capital. The funding round included investment from Cerity, Harmonic Growth Partners, Thayer Investment Partners, G2 Venture Partners, and Wind River Ventures.
