Instacart launched a pop culture ad campaign for its AI shopping assistant Clementine. The ads feature scenes from Shrek, Scooby-Doo, The Office and A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. Viewers see characters eating on screen and then use Clementine to generate meal ideas. The campaign runs on TV, streaming, YouTube, audio, social media and in the Instacart app. It debuted during NBC’s Sunday Night Football on 14 September 2026. CPG brands Hormel and Hillshire appear in the creative. Clementine uses Instacart’s transaction data from over 1.6 billion lifetime orders. It can also identify promotions, suggest lower-cost alternatives and turn lists into orders. Clementine is available to most users in the US and Canada via the app and website. Instacart also offers a white-label AI product called Cart Assistant to other retailers.
