Release2026-08-06

Browser Use now lets software agents pay for its cloud browser-automation service directly from a digital dollar wallet, using Coinbase's x402 payment protocol. No signup, credit card or API key is required, because the wallet itself acts as the account. Payment is in USDC, a token pegged to the US dollar, settled on the Base network, and an existing account can be topped up instead of creating a wallet-keyed one.

What changed

Using Browser Use Cloud required a human to sign up, add a credit card and paste an API key into the agent's environment.

What it unlocks

An automated agent can find the service, pay for each browser task from its own digital wallet and top up its own credits without a person creating an account.

  • setup in about 30 seconds
  • one line of code in Python or TypeScript

What you need to act on it

  • a funded USDC wallet on the Base network
  • the Browser Use SDK
  • optionally an existing Browser Use API key to top up that account instead
