GitHub launched a connected Copilot cloud experience. Users can start a session on github.com, GitHub Mobile, Copilot CLI, Copilot app, VS Code, Slack or Teams. Sessions run in secure cloud sandboxes by default. Sandboxes start fast, resume where left off and have no one-hour limit. Actions entitlement is now a shared dollar-based pool for builds, cloud sandboxes and larger hosted runners. Team and Enterprise Cloud plans include larger hosted runners in the pool. Cloud sandbox billing begins in November 2026. Sessions sync across web and mobile. Pins and context carry over between surfaces. Admins can manage cloud access and permissions in Copilot settings. Enterprise-managed settings apply to the new experience. Chat sessions are scoped to one organization or personal repos by default. Read-only mode applies without write access.
What changed
