Release2026-08-04

Warp released its coding assistant as a standalone command-line tool that runs in other terminal programs on Mac, Linux and Windows, rather than only inside Warp's own terminal. It can pick between different models based on task difficulty, split work across several agents, and hand a job off to run in the cloud. Using it requires either a Warp subscription, prepaid credits, or a customer's own model access key.

What changed

The Warp Agent was only available inside Warp's own terminal application.

What it unlocks

Running Warp's coding agent in any terminal, including over SSH without installing anything on the remote machine.

  • subscription from $18 a month for $20 of inference
  • ad hoc credits from $10

What you need to act on it

  • a Warp subscription, prepaid credits, or an API key or SuperGrok login
