The European Commission designated ChatGPT, Reddit and Roblox as very large online platforms. The label comes from the EU's Digital Services Act, its online safety law. All three must remove illegal content and protect the privacy and security of minors. Failure can bring fines of up to 6 percent of global revenue. The three services must comply by the end of December. Each passed the EU user threshold that triggers the stricter tier. OpenAI said it is preparing to meet the extra requirements. Roblox said it welcomes further engagement with the Commission. Reddit did not immediately comment. The step extends the law further into generative AI, after an existing investigation into Grok.
