Google launched Google Pics, an image creation and editing tool. It runs on Nano Banana, Google's own image-generation model. The tool is aimed at everyday work design tasks such as posters, social posts and illustrations. It will reach most Workspace business customers and paying Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers over the coming weeks. Integration into Docs and Slides starts today, with Google Drive to follow. Editing features include isolating and transforming objects, and changing or translating text inside images. Several people can edit together, and the tool can produce multiple versions of a requested image. Google Pics generates images rather than hosting a marketplace of artist-made templates, as Canva does. Its model was trained on artists' work.
