Release2026-10-26

OpenAI released GPT-6.1 Terra as a mid-tier model. It costs half what GPT-5.6 Terra and GPT-6.1 Sol charge. Its input price is $1 per million tokens and output $5. It matches pricier models on some tasks. It excels at technical communication and computer use. Its knowledge cutoff is 1 June 2026. It refuses harmful requests less often than Sol. It avoids unnecessary refusals more often than Sol. The rollout is live now.
