Elon Musk said Grok Bot’s serving costs now exceed its revenue. Users hit weekly usage caps faster than expected. Grok Bot is an agent that runs tasks on a virtual computer. It performs research, writing and web browsing in loops. xAI bundles it with paid plans like SuperGrok at $30 a month. It also comes through Cursor plans with their own agent compute allowances. The product reached about 800,000 paid weekly users in two months. Musk gave no dollar figure or timeline for a fix. He did not announce a shutdown, price hike or technical change. The admission signals the agent is not yet covering its GPU costs.
