Survey2026-08-27

A Paylocity survey of more than 1,000 US human resources and recruitment leaders found that 91% already use AI somewhere in hiring, with the rest planning to within 18 months. Most said they trust it to judge applicants fairly, yet four in five are managing at least one problem with the tools, and a quarter worry good candidates are being screened out. Use is concentrated in resume screening, interview scheduling and job descriptions, while candidate conversations stay with people.

What changed

Applications per hire tripled between 2021 and 2024, leaving recruiters to screen the volume largely by hand.
