Release2026-10-28

GitHub launched Copilot Fusion at its Universe conference. Fusion picks the best model or mix for each coding step. Fusion Max matched Claude Opus 5.5 Max on a coding benchmark. It did so at half the cost and 40% faster. GitHub Enterprise users can now use all Copilot features without a separate subscription. They pay only for the AI credits they use. GitHub also released a Copilot app for cross-project agent work. Agents can now learn from results and suggest changes for approval. GitHub added Copilot code review Max with top scores on ReviewBench. The Octoverse report showed 40% of pull requests now start with an agent draft. That share was 17% in March. GitHub added 4M CPU cores and 160 PB of storage this year. It is moving to a multi-region Azure deployment by early next year.
