Mistral raised €3 billion in fresh funding led by Samsung Electronics. The round values the French AI company at more than €21 billion after the investment. The Scaleup Europe Fund, backed by the European Union and managed by EQT, also took part. Existing investor PSG Equity joined too. CEO Arthur Mensch said the money will go to infrastructure, including Mistral's own data centres. He said owned computing capacity should roughly double over five years. Mistral will also train larger and faster models, with new releases due soon. Mensch expects to beat his earlier forecast of $1 billion in annual recurring revenue, but gave no new figure. Mistral works with individual companies on custom tools, as it already does with ASML, and plans similar work with Samsung. Mensch said Chinese open-weight models raise doubts over long-term support and possible export limits.
