Sam Altman signed four contracts in Abu Dhabi. The largest is with ADNOC to deploy OpenAI’s Frontier platform for AI agents. The deal links oilfield development, production, refining and trading. It runs on G42 infrastructure in the UAE. Abu Dhabi will also make some policies readable by AI agents. Mubadala will use OpenAI models to analyze potential deals. A UAE consortium may lead OpenAI’s next funding round. Altman cited energy as his biggest challenge at ADIPEC.
