Marriott and LG Electronics built a cloud-based guest room TV platform. It combines entertainment, hotel info and room controls in one interface. Guests can stream linear TV, FAST channels and other services. The system supports personalized ads via LG Channels. Hotel staff can monitor TV health and performance across properties. New features can be added as guest expectations evolve. TVs may later connect to IoT devices for lighting, temperature and leak detection. The platform is piloting at 40 Marriott hotels in the U.S. and Canada. Marriott plans to scale it across its global portfolio. The figures come from a Hotel Dive report.
