Cognition raised over $2B at a $48B valuation. Andreessen Horowitz and Accel led the round as new investors. Founders Fund, General Catalyst and Avenir also took part, alongside dozens of others. Cognition makes Devin, a coding agent that carries out engineering tasks. It says run-rate revenue has nearly doubled since its May round. It names NVIDIA, GE Aerospace, Citi, Mercedes-Benz and Modal as customers. Devin has added incident triage, a security vulnerability scanner and event-triggered automations. Those automations start work from Slack, GitHub and Linear without a chat. Cognition opened offices in six new cities over the past year. It says it will stay an independent lab and mix models from several providers.
