Google DeepMind and Google Cloud will give up to 200 European researchers direct access to frontier models. They will also provide $3 million in compute credits. The models include AlphaFold 3, WeatherNext, AlphaGenome, AlphaEvolve and AlphaEarth Foundations. The access is part of the EU’s RAISE initiative to bridge the compute gap. It aims to accelerate European scientific innovation. Researchers can tackle challenges like extreme weather prediction and molecular mapping. The effort supports the EU’s AI for Science strategy.
