Survey2026-08-25

An informal LinkedIn poll of 26 finance executives run by CFO Dive found most expect AI's main workforce effect at their own company to be higher productivity rather than job cuts. That contrasts with wider US public opinion, where a large majority expect AI to reduce employment over the next 20 years. The sample is very small and self-selected, so it indicates sentiment rather than measured outcomes.

What changed

Public polling has shown rising fear that AI will destroy jobs, up seven points since 2024.

  • 54% of 26 say higher productivity
  • 19% expect new roles created
  • 15% say AI will cut roles
  • 71% of US adults expect fewer jobs
