Grok often cited conservative voter guides and X. GPT relied on Wikipedia, AP, Axios and Reddit. Grok searched immigration, taxes, crime and energy. GPT searched healthcare and abortion. Grok’s lean vanished when internet search was turned off. GPT’s lean persisted without search. Grok carried 1,240 hidden tokens in API requests. The study was led by Convovo, a Cornell-linked research studio.
