Anthropic introduced mods for Claude Code. Mods are small TypeScript functions that change how Claude Code works. They can rewrite prompts, block risky commands, add custom UI, or replace built-in features. Mods run with the same access as Claude Code itself. Users should only install mods from trusted sources. Mods ship inside plugins and can be shared like any plugin. Some built-in features now ship as mods. Admins can control mod permissions on Team and Enterprise plans. A built-in security mod restricts risky actions by default. Mods are available today in the CLI and desktop app.
What changed
