Release2026-09-08

Meta released Muse, a personal AI agent that people message to carry out digital tasks. It runs today on iOS, Android, the Muse.ai website and WhatsApp. Meta says its AI glasses will connect to Muse soon. Light use is free, while heavy automation needs one of Meta's AI subscription plans. Muse can send emails, book travel and help sell a car. It can also buy things using Stripe's Link, which issues a single-use card number instead of real card details. Meta says Muse is the first agent covered by Link's no-fee return protections. Each user's activity runs in an isolated environment Meta calls Secure VM. A component named Sentinel checks outbound actions against permissions or asks the user to approve. Approval prompts bypass the model to resist prompt injection attacks.

What changed

Meta had no consumer personal agent, testing Muse internally as "Hatch".
